Straining Mesh Fence

Mesh fencing is faster to erect than many line wires. View these tips to learn how.

Put your mesh on the ground about 50cm before the End Post, to give you wire to tie to the End Post.
Ensure that the roll is the right way around – the small holes should be at the bottom of the mesh.

Strip off the first few vertical wires, so that the horizontal wires can be tied to the End Post, using an End Knot.

Attach a Mesh Strainer Clamp to the other end of the mesh, and with  2 Chain Strainers, strain up the mesh.

Walk along the fence, and jiggle the mesh – ensuring that the mesh is not caught on any posts or other obstructions
The strain should be enough to pull out 1/2 to 3/4 of the crimp in the mesh horizontal wires….do not pull this crimp all the way out.

Tie off the strained end of the mesh to the other End Post, and release chain strainers and clamp from the mesh.

Using Fence Post Clips, clip the mesh to each fence post – don’t forget to clip the bottom.
