Fence Posts are best installed using either a hand Post Driver or a Motorised Driver (petrol or compressed air), the Hand Drivers are available from Hello Fencing, whilst Motorised drivers can be hired from industrial hire outlets.
Before you start banging posts into the ground, it is helpful to install a sight/guide wire between the Stay Assemblies, so that your know that your fence is straight…..this sight wire can then become the top wire of your fence.
Pace out the fence line, dropping Stockposts every 3 to 5 metre – depending upon the land terrain.
We recommend using Stockposts with the larger XL post placed at every 4th or 5th post, for extra strength.
Be sure to wear hearing protection when you are driving them into the ground, and make sure that your hands and feet do not get caught under the post driver.
If your land is hilly, or has gullys, you may need the posts closer together, to stop animals from lifting the fence wire up.
Install your Steel Stockposts and XL Stockposts along the guide wire – make sure that the holes in the posts all face the same way.
The StockPost flange with holes in it should be pointing towards the wire side of the fence, so that you can clip the fence wire to the posts.
Drive the StockPosts to a the line mark on the post.
