Estimating fencing materials

A good estimate of the required fencing products, will help you to budget and plan your fence construction

Our Hello Fence Builder will enable you to accurately estimate the amount of fencing that you require for your project.
The Fence builder provides an estimate of the basic fence materials, with the exclusion of Stay Assemblies (also known as End Assemblies) and Gates. To learn more about Stay Assemblies and Gates, click on the links.

Using Google Maps, draw your fence at a select location. The map view can change between Map or Satellite view to get an accurate placement of your drawing. Multiple fences lines can be drawn to divide your fences.
This will calculate the fence length in metres.

The Hello Fence builder uses the combined fence length to estimate your fencing package suggestions.
You will then need to set the Post Spacing to calculated the number of steel posts needed.

Post Spacing

This refers to the length in metres between each Stockpost.  The spacing is dependent upon your local terrain and the stocking pressure that the fence will be under.
If the area is hilly, you will need posts closer together, so that when you attach the mesh to your posts, you have no gaps between the fence and the ground.

Intermediate Post Spacing

This refers how often you are going to insert a larger Intermediate or XL steel Stockpost into the fence line. A ratio of 1:3 means that every fourth post will be an intermediate post.
They are heavier and stronger post than the traditional post, providing greater strength to the fence.

Fencing Estimate Completed

When you are happy with  your post spacing, the Hello Fence builder will list all the products that will complete your fence – which you can update and change as required.
